We have become aware of a discoloration problem with water in the Glendale Yearound. Several residents have reported a brownish staining on bathroom fixtures and on dishes. We have done some preliminary testing to try to track down the source of the problem but as yet we do not have a definitive answer. Now that the weather is improving, we will be flushing all the water lines in the Yearound. If the discoloration is due to a buildup of sediment in the lines, this should improve the situation. We are also continuing to run tests and consult with our engineering firm as to possible solutions.
Please be assured that the water in the Yearound system continues to meet all DEP testing requirements for safety. The problem we are dealing with is one of ascetics, not safety. We realize that this doesn’t make the stains in your fixtures and on your dishes any less frustrating and we are working to try to resolve the problem. As we find answers, we will be posting updates on our web site, social media sites, and e-mailing them to our e-mail update subscribers.
If you are experiencing discoloration please do not hesitate to contact our office. Understanding if the problem is localized or system wide may help us to identify the cause of, and ultimately a solution to, the problem.
